What is G.R.E.A.T.?
The G.R.E.A.T. Program is a school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curriculum. The primary objective is prevention and is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership. The G.R.E.A.T. lessons focus on providing life skills to students to help them avoid delinquent behavior and violence to solve problems. G.R.E.A.T. offers a continuum of components for students and their families.
Establishing a G.R.E.A.T. Program
The success of this program is founded on the mutual commitment of law enforcement and educational agencies. Prior to applying for G.R.E.A.T. officer training, it is important to review the information contained in the Agency Commitment, Guidelines for Law Enforcement and Schools, and Officer Selection areas.Connections
